Before you start: your network

The computer you will use must be allowed these outbound connections. Organisation networks often allow the first and block the second.

Ask your network team to check before you begin:

If it is blocked: Details for your network team.

For a person, this is the organization or unit your access is grouped under. For a system, this is the organization that operates this system. It becomes your organization of record: it groups you with your colleagues, it is what data-sharing decisions are made about, and your teammates should all type the same name here.

Your own citizenship — not your organization's nation. The two are allowed to differ, and often do: a liaison officer, or anyone posted to a command of another country. We do not infer one from the other, and your organization's own nation is recorded separately by the administrator who registers it. Your citizenship can limit which shared data you may read — some shared data lanes your organization can reach are narrowed by the nationality of the person reading, which is why it is required: a request without it cannot be reviewed.

Repository access is granted to this account when your onboarding is approved. Leave it blank and you get no repositories until you add it, which you can do yourself after onboarding on the GitHub page of the identity console (/github). Your GitHub username, not your email.

    Access

Need Platform Admin or IAM Admin? Those escalated roles are granted only when your sponsor includes one in your invite — ask your sponsor if you need it.

If your organization sells what it does, pick commercial, even if a government owns it. This describes your organization's work. Your citizenship is recorded separately above.

Your details are sent over an encrypted connection and stored for review only.
